Title: Busy, busy, busy
Hi all!
I am working my fingers to the bone getting ready to switch into Christmas shows vs. bead shows. I only have two Christmas shows, but I am trying to concentrate on making jewelry now for awhile. I hope everyone plans to spend a little for Christmas presents this year. I know my budget it less than usual and I plan to give handmade when possible. I always get caught up in the Christmas season and forget that it is the thoughtful gift that means the most.
Don't know about your weather, but it has gotten unseasonably cold here. I am wondering what happened to fall. All the leaves on my trees are still green. I wonder if this is another sign of global warming.
See ya! Lisa

Title: Beauitful Weather!
Hi All!
I just love the weather this time of year. I was lucky to have a show in Nashville this weekend, and the last half of the drive was beautiful. The trees are turning, and the leaves are wonderful fiery colors. It really inspired me to think about fall and winter colors for some new beads.
Next weekend's show is in Winston-Salem, and it will be so nice to be close to home. The Sunday night drive home is getting old.
See ya, Lisa

Title: Just another Bead Show
Hi All!
I got back last night from another bead show in St. Augustine, FL. The weather was just wonderful, warm during the day with a cool ocean breeze in the evening. I was surprised it wasn't hot and humid during the day.
The show had low attendance which seems to be a trend this year for most bead shows. I wonder if beading is on the way out, or if it is just the economy. What's your opinion? Send me an email to tell me what you think and I will enter you into a contest for one of my beads (lisabeamanbeads@aol.com).
The drive south was a little iffy because of the lack of gas in the Charlotte area. After a search to several stations, I finally filled up at $4.00+ a gallon. I found gas easily in South Carolina for $3.40 a gallon, but the best price was in south Georgia for $3.25. It is amazing to me that there can be such a price and availablity difference. Charlotte is one of the most expensive places for gas.

Title: And one month later...
Hi All!
I can't believe it has taken me a month to get back here for a chat. In an unexpected turn of events, I will have next weekend off and I am wondering what to do now. I was going to try and add another class at Beadlush, but Lydia will be out of town and it's too short of notice. I will just have to make beads, which will make me happy.
October and November are going to be very busy, and I should be to a city near you!

Title: Beadfest is over...
Whew, I am home after a long drive to Philly and a longer drive home. I had a flat tire on the way home and it was a challenge to figure out, but now I am home safe and sound. With the holiday weekend coming up, I will have some time to breathe and get ready for Makin' Aiken. I need some new beads for jewelry pieces I have designed in my dreams. I sure hope this new hurricane doesn't bring rain on the show weekend. I just hate the rain and a tent!
Hope to see you all in Aiken! Lisa

at keeping up with a Blog. I am constantly talking to myself, but I don't think about talking to you. I am going to keep working on it.
I have been busy on the torch getting ready for Beadfest in Philadelphia. I do have several new beads I have been working on. I have been stocking up on a variety of beads too.
I just updated my calendar for the year of 2008. I still have some new classes to add when the dates are firmed up, and a couple of shows I am still on the fence about.
Trying to talk to you soon, Lisa

Title: Bead Show
Hi all!
I am in Columiba, SC with weekend with the American Bead Show formerly known as the American Gem Expo. It has been a quiet show, and I wish I knew how to wild it up. My mice have been the most "touched" beads of weekend. I learned how to make pansies, in the bead form, this week and have enjoyed them very much. Hopefully I will get some pansies ready for the show in Atlanta next weekend.
I need to get back to my project at hand. I will talk to you all again soon. Keep checking back for updates.
